چکیده

In this article, several thermoelastic benchmark cases are studied within the framework of ordinary state based peridynamic theory (OSPD). By using OSPD, limitations geometrical discontinuity in fracture analysis can be overcome. Meanwhile, double nodes also avoided during crack definition. A domain integral method with thermal effect is applied calculating stress intensity factors (TSIFs). differential operators utilized to rewrite spatial derivatives integral. Numerical investigations TSIFs single and mixed-mode scenarios provided respectively, verified by reference solutions. Good agreements between OSPD solutions show high performance capability proposed analysis.

A disk-shaped domain integral method for the computation of stress intensity factors using tetrahedral meshes

A novel domain integral approach is introduced for the accurate computation of pointwise Jintegral and stress intensity factors (SIFs) of 3D planar cracks using tetrahedral elements. This method is efficient and easy to implement, and does not require a structured mesh around the crack front. The method relies on the construction of virtual disk-shaped integral domains at points along the crack...

Calculation of J-Integral and Stress Intensity Factors using the Material Point Method

The Material Point Method (MPM), which is a particle-based, meshless method that discretizes material bodies into a collection of material points (the particles), is a new method for numerical analysis of dynamic solid mechanics problems. Recently, MPM has been generalized to include dynamic stress analysis of structures with explicit cracks. This paper considers evaluation of crack-tip paramet...

Linearized Theory of Peridynamic States

A state-based peridynamic material model describes internal forces acting on a point in terms of the collective deformation of all the material within a neighborhood of the point. In this paper, the response of a state-based peridynamic material is investigated for a small deformation superposed on a large deformation. The appropriate notion of a small deformation restricts the relative displac...
